UK & International Scope Electrical Installation & Testing

We deliver electrical installation and testing nationwide through directly employed NICEIC engineers and vetted partners, with European capability for international estates. From a single site to a national portfolio, we cover the full lifecycle – design and installation through to periodic inspection and testing – to one standard, with consistent certification and reporting wherever your sites are.

EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report)

An EICR, or Electrical Installation Condition Report, is the formal inspection of a property’s fixed electrical installation against BS 7671:2018 + Amendment 4:2026, the current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Commercial premises and their duty holders should have one at least every five years, or on change of occupancy. The report classifies findings as C1 (danger present), C2 (potentially dangerous), C3 (improvement recommended) or FI (further investigation); a C1 or C2 makes the installation ‘unsatisfactory’ and needs remedial work, which we carry out.

EICR Testing, Fixed-Wire Testing & Certificates

EICR testing, also known as fixed-wire testing, is the periodic inspection and testing behind the report. We set frequency by premises type, use and risk, and issue the right certificate for the job: an EICR for periodic inspection, an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) for new installations, and a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC) for smaller works. Every certificate is logged and stored, so your compliance records are complete and audit-ready.

    Commercial Electrician & Electrical Maintenance

Our commercial electricians do more than one-off jobs. They carry out reactive electrical repairs, complete the remedial works an EICR identifies, and deliver planned electrical maintenance that keeps installations safe between inspections. Because installation, testing and repair sit with the same team, there’s no waiting on a second contractor to fix what an inspection finds, and no gap in accountability.

    Sectors We Work In

We work across three core sectors. In retail, we handle store power, lighting and EPOS/data, and run estate-wide EICR programmes around trading hours. In commercial offices, we cover power distribution, landlord and tenant EICRs and remedial works. In industrial settings, we work with three-phase power, machinery and statutory testing where safety and uptime are critical.

CAFM Reporting for Electrical Installation & Testing Services

Every EICR result and code, certificate and remedial action sits on our CAFM platform, giving you a live, audit-ready view of electrical compliance across the estate. You can see C1 and C2 items and their status, pull certificates on demand, and work to a compliance calendar so nothing falls due unnoticed – with full SLA and spend visibility.

Fully Qualified With 50 Years Of Experience

With 50 years of experience across the domestic, industrial and commercial sectors, we are a NICEIC Approved Contractor, which means our electrical work is independently assessed against BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition). Every installation is completed and certified to that national standard, with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) or Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC) issued as your record of compliance.

Electrical Installation & Testing Multi-Site Capabilities

Across a portfolio, electrical compliance has to be consistent and provable. PPVS runs an estate-wide EICR programme on one schedule, with a single certificate library, one standard and one point of contact. As sites are added, we fold them into the programme, so a national estate stays compliant and audit-ready without you chasing a different electrician at each location.

    Electrical Installation Frequently Asked Questions

    What is an EICR?
    >

An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a formal inspection of a building’s fixed wiring against BS 7671, the Wiring Regulations. It records the condition of the installation and flags anything dangerous or in need of improvement.

How often is an EICR required for commercial premises?
    >

For most commercial premises an EICR is recommended at least every five years, or sooner on a change of occupancy or where the previous report specifies. We set the exact interval by premises type, use and risk.

What's the difference between an EIC and an EICR?
    >

An EIC (Electrical Installation Certificate) certifies new installation or alteration work. An EICR is the periodic inspection of an existing installation. New work gets an EIC; ongoing compliance is evidenced by EICRs.

What do the EICR codes (C1, C2, C3) mean?
    >

C1 means danger is present and immediate action is needed; C2 means potentially dangerous and remedial work is required; C3 is an improvement recommendation. A C1 or C2 makes the installation ‘unsatisfactory’.

Do you carry out the remedial works an EICR identifies?
    >

Yes. Because our engineers both test and repair, we complete the remedial works and EICR flags, so you don’t need a second contractor and your installation returns to a satisfactory, compliant state.
